The Supertree Grove – which is where the Light Show takes place, is free to enter. It is the most impressive and well-known part of Gardens By The Bay, with some of the Supertrees reaching as high as 50 metres tall!

Standing underneath the giant supertrees feels so surreal – you feel so tiny and like you’re in Avatar! There is so much greenery surrounding the supertrees: it is really idyllic and you can get some fantastic pictures here.

There is an admission price for the three indoor conservatories – you can buy the e-tickets cheaper online here and avoid the ticket queues!

How To Get To Gardens By The Bay

Gardens By The Bay are located right next to the iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel.

Taking a taxi is the quickest way to get here, however the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) – which is the metro/tube system in Singapore, is very convenient, cheap, efficient and easy to use.

If you buy a Singapore Tourist Pass (available at most MRT stations and at Changi Airport Automated STP Kiosks) you can get unlimited travel on the MRT for one, two or three days ($10, $16 and $20 respectively).

The nearest MRT station to Gardens By The Bay is Bayfront: it takes just a couple of minutes to walk from Bayfront station to Gardens By The Bay.

Gardens By The Bay Light Show

Be sure to visit The Supertree Grove once the sun has set in the evening and the Supertrees start to light up.

Watch the fascinating Light and Sound Show, known as Garden Rhapsody, where the Supertrees light up in harmony to lots of iconic songs.

The best way to experience it is to lie under one of the towering Supertrees and relax as you experience the show.

The performance and songs are different every time so many people even choose to go back a second night to watch the show again!

Gardens By The Bay Light Show Time

Daily at 7.45pm and 8.45pm

The Gardens By The Bay Light & Sound Show happens twice every evening: at 7.45pm and 8.45pm and lasts for 15 minutes.

During holiday periods there are often more shows than this.

As this is one of the best attractions in Singapore, it can be busy here and so it’s good to arrive early to get a good spot! However, the gardens are so big that it doesn’t feel crowded.

Plus, if you just lie underneath one of the trees to watch the show, you’ll feel like you’re a million miles away: it’s so relaxing!

Once the last show is over, the gardens empty pretty quickly so if you hang around a little you can get some nice night photographs of the Supertrees lit up without the crowds in.

The gardens actually close at 2am so you can take your time strolling around afterwards – it is very safe here!

The super trees are equally impressive during the day as well as at night so I highly recommend you to see them in the day as well as lit up at night.

It’s best to visit early in the morning when the weather is cooler, and also as there are less crowds at this time, which makes it feel like you have the whole place to yourself!

Plus if you plan to visit any of the indoor conservatories they will be a lot quieter first thing in the morning!

The Supertree Grove is open from 5am – great if you are an early riser! Cloud Forest, Flower Dome and Floral Fantasy however all open at 9am.

The Cloud Forest holds the world’s tallest indoor waterfall and the Flower Dome is the world’s largest glass greenhouse.

Both are absolutely amazing – see the pictures below! You can get tickets online slightly cheaper here.
